A delegation from the Government of National Unity (GNU) held talks in Washington with the US Administration’s Office of Trade on enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions centred on reactivating the Libyan-American Council for Trade and Investment and facilitating the entry of American companies into the Libyan market, with a particular focus on energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors.
The two sides discussed support for Libya’s economy, development plans, and increasing oil and gas production as a key pillar for economic growth.
The US representatives expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and addressing issues such as double taxation.
The Libyan delegation included the Acting Ministers of Transportation and Oil and Gas, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade, and the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects.
