Trade between Indonesia and Libya has been increasing
Indonesian entrepreneurs to showcase Halal products at Tripoli International Fair 2025

The Charge d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli, Dede Achmad Rifai, held a Ramadan iftar with Libyan entrepreneurs on March 23, as part of efforts to increase Indonesia-Libya trade and strengthen good relations with Libyan entrepreneurs.
The breakfast was attended by the Chairman of the Libyan Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamad Raeed, the Chairman of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anwar Abu Sitta, the Director of the Tripoli International Fair, Islam Ja’far and several Libyan businessmen who have or will do business with Indonesia.
During this event,, Ambassador Rifai outlined Indonesia's plans to participate in the upcoming Tripoli International Fair, scheduled for April 22-28, 2025, as well as the Indonesian Halal Product Exhibition (Halal Indo) in September 2025 and the Trade Expo Indonesia in October 2025.
Seven Indonesian companies have shown interest in attending or sending samples of various halal products to be showcased at the Tripoli International Fair 2025. These companies are engaged in sectors including furniture, packaged food and beverages, herbal and natural medicine, and Muslim clothing for both adults and children. Several Indonesian products that are already marketed in Libya will also be featured at the Tripoli International Fair 2025. Additionally, Indonesian tourism and cultural arts will be presented.
At Halal Indo 2025, a variety of Indonesian halal products will be exhibited, such as Muslim clothing, food and beverages, cosmetics, and various other halal products. Even more Indonesian products will be showcased at the Trade Expo Indonesia 2025.
In 2024, 30 Libyan entrepreneurs, accompanied by the Charge d'Affaires and staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli, attended the Trade Expo Indonesia. Several trade contracts were agreed upon and signed at the Trade Expo Indonesia 2024. Among them, Fly Oya and PT Dirgantara Indonesia agreed to lease and purchase four aircraft manufactured by PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
Trade between Indonesia and Libya has been increasing, with an ever-growing number of Indonesian products available in Libya. Various types of Indonesian products are favored and purchased by Libyan consumers. These products include different types of paper, footwear (shoes and sandals), a variety of packaged food and beverages, cleaning/sanitary liquids, cars, car tires, motorcycles, perfumes, multipurpose glue, palm oil, and furniture.
