The Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP) has officially taken possession of a plot of land in Tajoura - located on the eastern outskirts of Tripoli- to develop a commercial service city.

The agreement was signed Thursday between LAIP Chairman Mustafa Abufanas and Brigadier General Abdel Fattah Al-Khubuli, Commander of the 51st Infantry Brigade.

The ceremony, held in Tajoura, was attended by local dignitaries, municipal officials, and members of the portfolio’s board and executive team. The land, known as the “Al-Na’am Project,” spans a total area of 243 hectares and 9,395 square meters.

LAIP stated that the project aligns with the Government of National Unity’s goals for sustainable development and aims to enhance Libya’s economic, social, and security stability.

The initiative is part of the portfolio’s broader strategy to boost domestic investments while preserving its international assets, particularly in African markets.
