The current Head of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), Abdulmajeed Berreesh has criticized the request made to one of the British courts by his rival Hassan Abu Hadi, who is appointed by Tobruk government and the dissolved parliament.

Abdulmajeed criticized that his rival Abu Hadi asked the British court to determine that he is the one eligible for heading the LIA, which then would affect the lawsuits put by the LIA against Goldman Sachs and Societe Generale and others.

He added, in a written press release, that such a deed committed by Mr. Abu Hadi came in a very critical time as the country is going through tough crises, which actually shows that he is after personal profit represented by leading the LIA regardless of all the international efforts exerted to achieve a national unity and stability in Libya.

Abdulmajeed concluded that the LIA is going the right way as regards the lawsuits it had already put in courts, stressing that the LIA is determined to control its properties and rebuild its administrative capabilities to protect its stability and neutrality, as it is an interest for all Libyans.
