The Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezik, announced in a meeting with the Minister of Economy and Trade in the Libyan Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huweij, the activation of the role of the businessmen council between the two countries.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the Economic and Social Council preparatory meeting f or the 31st session of the Arab League's Summit in Algeria, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Trade, on Sunday.

The statement said that the talks between the two parties focused on promoting bilateral trade and economic relations and their desire to consolidate relations and enhance strategic cooperation.

The Algerian Minister expressed his country's readiness to have a strong role in the Libyan International Exhibition, as well as to find dynamic mechanisms to confirm the great role played by the Al-Dabdab border crossing for the two countries.

A statement by the Libyan Ministry of Economy and Trade said that Minister Al-Huweij agreed with the Algerian Minister to organize a joint meeting that includes business owners and investors in both countries, in addition to agreeing to establish an exhibition for Algerian goods and products in the capital, Tripoli, in the coming period.

Al-Huweij participated in the meeting of Arab economy ministers, which discussed the Arab customs union and the Arab vision for digital economy, as well as the development of an Arab strategy for food security.
