The Commercial Attaché at the Libyan Consulate General in Istanbul, Omar Darhoub, participated in the Export Gateway to Africa Exhibition that kicked off in Istanbul on Saturday.

The exhibition highlights the volume of trade exchange between the participating countries and Turkey, especially since Libya, with its geographical location, is the gateway to exports to Africa, Darhoub said.

He stressed the importance of the exhibition in linking businessmen and investors in the private sector in the two countries.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in the Government of National Unity, Mustafa Al-Samo, the Libyan Consul in Istanbul, Salah El-Din Al-Kaseh, the Executive Director of the Federation of Libyan Industry, Ali Naseer, and a group of Libyan businessmen.

More than 70 entrepreneurs from different countries, including 13 Libyan companies, are participating in the exhibition, which will continue until next Monday.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said earlier that his country encourages trade exchange in local currencies between Turkey and Libya, expecting an increase in the volume of exchange between the two countries to four billion dollars.
