The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), is working to activate a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2021 with Enterprise Greece.

On Monday, LIA Chairman and CEO, Ali Mahmoud Hassan, held an official meeting in Athens at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Tassos Chatzivasileiou.

According to a statement on the LIA’s Facebook page, the two sides discussed ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the Libyan Investment Authority and its Greek counterparts in both public and private sectors.

LIA noted that the meeting also focused on mechanisms to activate the MoU signed in 2021 between LIA and Enterprise Greece.

The agreement was signed during a visit by a Greek government delegation to Tripoli in 2021 and aims to foster cooperation on renewable energy projects in Libya, reflecting both sides’ commitment to developing strategic partnerships that promote sustainable investment opportunities between the two countries.
