The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced its success in drilling and restarting 5 new wells with a production capacity of about 12.000 barrels per day (bpd) since the start of October.
According to the NOC, Mellitah Company succeeded in restarting well “A-28” in the Abu Attifel oil field, in implementation of the NOC's strategic plan to increase production rates. The results of the well test showed that it produced 1820 barrels per day of crude oil.
Akakus Company completed drilling two development wells “A41H” and “A44” in the Sharara oil field, located in the A-NC115 reservoir, with a production capacity of 7000 barrels per day of crude oil. NOC said initial results showed that the two wells contained high-quality rock and reservoir characteristics, and they are expected to enter the production line in the near future.
The Gulf Company also announced its success in converting the well “G224” in the Nafoura field from operating with the artificial gas lift system to operating with the advanced “Sucker Rod” system. The production capacity of the well with its new system is expected to reach 600 barrels per day, as it has a depth of 10,000 feet, an unprecedented depth in any oil field in Libya, according to the NOC.
Meanwhile, Al-Sarir Company was able to drill the well “B54” in the Sara field in the contractual area A91 with a production capacity of 2400 barrels per day. The production of the new well may reach 3000 barrels per day after the completion of the final tests and the resumption of the field's production. NOC said "this comes in implementation of the strategic plans to increase the production capacity of the oil fields."
