The Minister of Transportation of the Presidential Council Milad Matouq issued an order on Sunday to form a committee tasked with reconsidering the prices of the flight tickets of Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways.
The order says all information leading to the current prices will be revised so that they become logical and affordable.
Matouq called for taking into account the fees imposed on purchasing foreign currencies from the banks, giving two weeks of work for the committee as a deadline.
Since the start of 2019, Libyan airliners increased the prices of tickets twice the previous ones - in some cases - as they were denied privilege of buying foreign currencies at the Central Bank exchange rates.
On January 20, Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways started selling tickets with the new prices amid public disapproval and calls for boycotting them.
