The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Hawij, has discussed with the Turkish ambassador to Libya, Kanaan Yilmaz, ways for Turkish companies to return to complete the implementation of projects contracted with the State of Libya.

During the meeting, the minister stressed the need to start the actual return of Turkish companies and the resumption of their work in the State of Libya within the framework of strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Hawaij suggested the formation of a joint working group of officials and specialists in government institutions, with the participation of economic actors from the two countries, representing holding companies, to provide consultations that enable companies to resume their work to implement development projects in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks.

He also urged the Turkish ambassador to expedite the resumption of the work of Turkish airlines through Libyan airports to facilitate communication between economic activities and to lift the Turkish visa on Libyan citizens.
