The Minister of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huweij, discussed during his meeting on Tuesday with the Serbian Ambassador to Libya, Dragan Todorovic, the arrangements for holding the Serbian Industries Exhibition in Tripoli, scheduled to be held in January 2025. The two sides also discussed the agreement to hold a Libyan-Serbian Businesspeople Forum on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Al-Huweij met with the Ambassador at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Tripoli to discuss bilateral relations and mechanisms for enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, in addition to organizing the Serbian Industries Exhibition in Libya in January 2025, as well as arrangements for organizing official visits that include business owners from both countries.
The Ministry of Economy and Trade said on its Facebook page that Al-Huweij stressed during the meeting the importance of developing trade and investment relations between Libya and Serbia, expressing the ministry's readiness to provide all facilities to Serbian companies and investors wishing to enter the Libyan market.
Al-Huwaij pointed out the importance of establishing real partnerships between the private sectors in the two countries to support economic cooperation, extending an official invitation to the Serbian Minister of Economy to visit Libya to deepen economic relations.
The ministry added that the Serbian Ambassador expressed the desire of Serbian companies to work inside Libya in several fields such as agriculture, industry, health, and education, stressing the desire of the Serbian government to enhance cooperation with the Libyan Government of National Unity, noting that the Serbian Minister of Trade extended an official invitation to Al-Huweij to visit Serbia.
