Nafusah Oil Operations Company has commenced the operation of the main oil pipeline for the North Hamada field, set to transport production to Mellitah Port via the El Feel field pipeline.
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported that technical teams have started filling the pipeline gradually, beginning with 2,000 barrels per day and aiming to reach 25,000 barrels per day. Once this volume is achieved, pumping will continue towards the Mellitah complex by opening the connection valve with the El Feel pipeline at a rate of 4,500 barrels per day.
The production is expected to increase incrementally with additional wells, targeting 10,000 barrels per day by September 2024 in the first phase of the field's development.
According to the NOC, the new pipeline spans 50 kilometers, with a diameter of 12 inches, and a design capacity of 70,000 barrels per day. It includes a leak detection system.
Furthermore, the teams installed a fibre optic cable along the pipeline for data transmission and equipped the connection point with the El Feel pipeline with a camera monitoring system.
