The National Oil Corporation (NOC) demanded that the parallel oil institution in Benghazi be dissolved immediately, accusing it of attempting to dominate the oil sector in the country and selling it at low prices.

The NOC emphasized in a statement Friday its firm rejection to the militarizing of oil installations, saying that the oil wealth belongs to all Libyans and the unity of the institution is essential to ensure the unity of Libya, according to the statement.

The NOC also referred to what it called Haftar's "acknowledgement" of the legitimacy of the NOC and its exclusive right in exporting oil, in accordance with national laws and resolutions issued by the Security Council.
