The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) discussed Libya’s challenging security environment and the potential threat to national stability and oil market supply with the United Arab Emirates Minister of State and Group CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber,

NOC’s Chairman requested, in a meeting on Wednesday in London, that the UAE government take strict measures against companies or individuals involved in Libyan oil theft, including those entering into illegal contracts with unauthorized or parallel institutions, in contravention of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

"We hope for an international consensus on Libya and a fruitful dialogue with the UAE on areas of common interest." Sanallah said, according to the NOC's website.

The two officials also discussed commercial cooperation and future opportunities to create prosperity in Libya.

Sanallah urged in a speech at the Oil and Money conference in London Wednesday the international community to reassess its approach to Libya and produce a united strategy to solving the country’s security problems.

He told the attendees of NOC's recent production success, on average over 1 million barrels per day despite the efforts to disrupt the oil sector.
