The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah said the US has the power to make a decisive difference in Libya, and its leadership understands the humanitarian impact the blockade is having on ordinary people.
“We are all agreed on the need to reach a sustainable solution so that what we face today can never happen again.” Sanallah said in a meeting the US Assistant Secretary of State David Schenker and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of International Affairs at the Energy Department Matthew Zais.
He also met with senior US officials in Washington DC on last Monday and Tuesday to discuss the humanitarian and financial consequences of the continuing blockade of Libyan oil production.
The NOC announced last Thursday that the losses of the oil blockade had reached 437 billion dollars as the Libyan oil production fell to 163.000 barrels per day.
