The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that Mellitah oil and gas complex is close to completing the installation of four new gas compressors in the Wafa field that will contribute to producing additional quantities of gas.

"The operating test of one of the compressors was completed yesterday, and the first flow of gas will be after a week," the Information Office of the NOC clarified, adding that the tests for the rest of the compressors would be conducted respectively.

The NOC explained that the second compressor will be activated in mid-November, while the third and fourth compressor will be operational during February and March 2019.

The additional gas expected to be produced will exceed 100 million cubic feet of gas per day after the operation of the third compressor, according to the NOC.
