The Ministry of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity announced on Friday that a workshop was held in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Energy on cooperation in the oil, gas, renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors.

According to what the Ministry published on its Facebook page, specialists from both sides discussed the foundations for implementing an integrated strategy for the energy sector, to maximize the added value in the national economy with a sustainable approach and high efficiency. This strategy includes hydrocarbons (oil, gas, refined products and petrochemicals) and the electricity and renewable energy sector (thermal resources and complementary energy).

The two sides regarded this workshop a first step toward a future path of cooperation in developing and implementing joint projects in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy, in a way that serves the interests of both countries.

From the Libyan side, the meeting was attended by the Director General of Planning and Studies at the Ministry of Oil, Khaled Al-Jarbi, the Director of the Renewable Energy Office, Jihad Al-Amari, the Director General of the General Administration of Technical Affairs, Mustafa Bin Issa, and officials from the National Oil Corporation.

From the Saudi side, the Director of the Vision Realization Office at the Ministry of Energy, Bandar Al-Ghamdi, the Oil and Gas Sector Official, Othman Al-Qassim, the Oil Demand Sustainability Program Official, Ahmed Sandi, and a number of experts from the Saudi Ministry of Energy and the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center.
