The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has reported that recent shutdowns of oil fields have led to a loss of nearly 63% of Libya's total oil production.
In a statement on its "X" account, the NOC clarified that the causes of these shutdowns are not linked to the corporation. It stressed that the oil sector is a critical safeguard for Libya, symbolizing the country's unity and serving as the backbone of its economy and future generations.
The statement emphasized that the current Board of Directors is assuming responsibility to act as a unifying force amid institutional division and is managing the situation with wisdom and patience.
Additionally, the NOC warned about the deteriorating infrastructure due to repeated shutdowns. "The corporation is working to minimize damage, alleviate the impact on citizens, and assess the losses."
It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the flow of oil and gas and expects a resolution to the crisis soon, urging all stakeholders to prioritize the nation's interests and take serious and responsible steps to resolve the situation.
