The Ministry of Economy in the Salvation Government has slapped an embargo on importing several kinds of commodities for six months from now.

The Ministry indicated in a statement that the embargo was resultant from a series of meetings held with the financial committee in the General National Congress and the Central Bank of Libya aiming at specifying the commodities that can be disposed of due to the current shortage of foreign currency, pointing out that the embargo will not last for good, but will follow the letters of credit.

The embargo includes 32 commodities such as cars (new and second-hand), mobile phones and their accessories, frozen fruits, pickles and vegetables, cosmetics and perfumes, fireworks, fresh and synthetic juices and energy drinks and the others more.
