Local sources from the city of Sirte have said that fuel and cooking gas is running short as many filling stations shutdown due to lack of stock.

Identical sources from Sirte have reported that the main fuel stations in the city have shut down, while motorists rushed to join queues outside those that were still open.

Gas cylinder stores had also received no supplies for more than a week, according to the same sources.

Since the fall of Sirte last January, the situation in the city is getting from bad to worse, as Haftar’s militias looted and burned several public buildings that provided services for people, including the culture office and the local radio station.

Libyan Crimes Watch (LCW) had also documented kidnappings and the raiding of homes without search warrants, as well as intimidation of civilians and attacks on public freedoms.
