The 6th session of the annual Tunisian-Libyan-Algerian Investment Forum kicked off on Friday on the Tunisian island of Djerba under the slogan "Investment Prospects in Neighboring Countries"
The three-day forum is attended by companies specialized in the fields of construction, public works, international trade, tourism, energy and digitalization.
In a radio statement, the head of the forum, Mounir Qazm, said that the goal is to search for partnership agreements to develop joint investment, enhance regional cooperation and achieve sustainable development.
More than 50 Libyan and Algerian companies have registered their attendance, in addition to official delegations and representatives of the relevant ministries, municipalities, labor organizations and others. More than 20 Tunisian companies will also participate in bilateral meetings held on the sidelines of the forum.
The regional economic bodies in Libya, Tunisia and Algeria have intensified their meetings to strengthen the partnership since the first consultative meeting held last April by the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Tunisian President Kais Saied, where they affirmed their determination to support the foundations of security and stability and enhance comprehensive economic integration in the three countries and the region as a whole.
In late July, the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Industry, Commerce and Agriculture, the Algerian Economic Renewal Council and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts tasked a joint council that was established to study the establishment of investment partnerships from the private and public sectors in the three countries, especially at the level of border areas, and to study the implementation of major development projects while ensuring their integration into global value chains.
