The Chairman of the Turkish-Libyan business council, Murtaza Karanfil, said he was optimistic about boosting trade with Libya as a new interim government, headed by Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, assumes office.
Karanfil told Anadolu Agency that he expects Libya to be stable in the interim period ahead of elections in December, adding that Dbeibah has good relations with Turkey and is an open-minded businessman.
He said Turkish businesspeople were ready to take the next step in boosting trade relations with Libya in line with the development of political relations that would take place in the coming period, urging for reconsidering removing entry visas for the citizens of the two countries.
Karanfil said easing visa procedures on citizens of the two countries can help Turkish firms for better work and investment in Libya, adding that a fee trade deal should be signed by the two countries, which would increase trade exchanges to five billion dollars short term and ten billion dollars long term.
