The Ministry of Education has refuted rumours of school suspension and confirmed that all classes are going to resume on Sunday.

Head of the ministry’s media office Ramadan Al-Gadawi said students of all stages are going to back to schools on March 05 following their mid-year school holiday.

Social media pages spread a rumour on Saturday claiming the classes would be postponed until March 12 due to Tripoli’s Abu Salim incidents.

“Those social media pages aim to obstruct the educational process,” Al-Gadawi said, urging people to unlike them and report them to Facebook.

He also called all educational staff to start school as scheduled and turn a blind eye to those rumours.

The rumour was first posted on a fake Facebook page called “Ministry of Education” before going viral on other social media pages.
