Ministry of Education suspends classes due to significant COVID outbreak
The Ministry of Education has decided to temporarily suspend classes at all educational institutions until August 5, in line with the government's announcement to tighten restrictions due to a covid-19 outbreak.
The announcement came after a meeting between Education Minister Musa Al-Maqrif, the head and members of the scientific advisory committee at the ministry, and the Director of the National Center for Disease Control Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar.
Members of the ministry's scientific advisory committee of the central, southern, and eastern regions joined the debate via closed circles due to the Covid-19-related restrictions.
The officials will meet next Wednesday to decide on a way forward for classes and exams. They also emphasized the need to provide all educational institutions with the Covid-19 health guidelines and ensure their implementation.
