Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has stressed the need for a mandatory scheme to get people vaccinated, as the NCDC warned that a fourth wave of Covid-19 in Libya is likely despite the mass vaccine rollout.

Dbeibah suggested imposing binding administrative and legal proceedings to force people to vaccinate and intensify awareness campaign that seeks to encourage people to get their shot.

During his meeting with the NCDC head and deputy Monday, the PM underscored the need to remain on track to offer the vaccine to all residents and address the difficulties encountered in this regard.

He called for issuing digital vaccination certificates according to international standards, so people could travel safely and establish "a sound electronic database."

On the other hand, the PM pointed out the need to pay attention to other diseases as well, including tuberculosis and hepatitis, from the fact that they are of the NCDC area of competence.
