A team of medical experts at the University Hospital of Tripoli has managed to successfully remove a tumor from a brain of a five-year-old child.

The child started experiencing a chronic headache and inability to control his body movements, in addition to his loss of balance while walking. His family brought him to hospital were the doctors carried out all necessary checkups and tests and suspected something serious so they recommended an MRI scan. Finally the family was told it was a tumor.

The tumor was in the cerebellum and was pressing on the brain stem, which was the cause of the aforementioned symptoms, according to the hospital.

The operation which took over three hours was conducted by a specialist medical team headed by consultant Dr. Faisal bin Talib, who confirmed that the child is in good condition and will be able to lead on a normal life after achieving full recovery.
