The Ministry of Health in the Government of National Unity (GNU)  has discussed launching the “Hayat” application, to operate the digital dialysis system, ensuring the rapid provision of high-quality medical service to kidney patients.

This came during a meeting of ministry officials, to discuss the possibility of providing services for treating kidney patients, and a presentation of the treatment protocols prepared by the scientific team of the National Kidney Program, to implement best practices in treating kidney patients, and to rationalize the use of medicine and available resources.

The meeting was attended by the head of the National Kidney Program, Saadeddin Abdel Wakil, directors of hospitals for diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases and kidney service centers, heads of dialysis departments and units in hospitals and medical centers, members of the management committees of the National Kidney Program, and scientific committees in medical institutions.

The National Kidney Patient Program is preparing a tender according to the technical specifications for medicines, supplies, operators, transplant medicines, laboratory requirements and related equipment, in addition to opening a general tender for long-term kidneys to ensure the flow of supplies, and developing a vision for the new kidney centers and kidney devices that must be available in each center.

It also supervises kidney centers and units, and dialysis units, and coordinates efforts between different medical specialties, as well as developing the necessary training plans to train medical and paramedical personnel working in dialysis centers and units.
