The head of the media bureau of Misrata hospital, Abdelaziz Issa, said the department of the injuries is facing a lot of obstacles regarding obtaining visas to send the wounded abroad for treatment, adding that it is also suffering from lack of financial support, which is necessary to help send the wounded abroad for treatment.

Issa indicated that a group of injured persons was sent to Italy for treatment two weeks ago, pointing out that there were other groups that had been sent to Tunisia and Turkey by the department of the injuries in cooperation with some of the state institutions.

“The hospital is still suffering from acute shortages of medicines and medical equipment despite all the calls made repetitively over the last period of time and the contacts made with a number of state institutions and relevant organizations in Misrata.” Issa remarked.

He stated that some of the aids that arrived in the hospital in the last days were provided by public state institutions, while some other aids were given by civil organizations from Misrata and other cities, besides the aids provided by international organizations, such as Turkish Relief Agency, Qatar and other simple assistances provided by private medicines companies.
