The Community Health Emergency team at the Libyan National Center for Disease Control will rollout a UNICEF-supported campaign on COVID-19 vaccination, with an aim to visit more than 100 municipalities across the country, UNICEF said in a statement Wednesday.

The statement said that a medical team will visit 100 municipalities covering all regions and targeting workers in municipal councils, media offices, health services offices, vaccination supervisors, as well as medical and medical assistants.

“We will work with all municipalities across the country, health officials, religious leaders and the Libyan Red Crescent” said Abdulkadir Musse, UNICEF Libya Special Representative.

He added that there are a lot of myths and fear among people, not only in Libya but all over the world — and what’s true is that the benefits of vaccine still outweigh the side effects.
