Twelve people lost their lives in a tragic collision between a truck and a passenger bus on the desert road linking the cities of Ajdabiya and Tobruk.
The accident occurred early Wednesday morning in a remote area along the road, due to its poor lighting and lack of basic services.
The Ajdabiya–Tobruk road is considered one of the most dangerous routes along the Libyan coast, with numerous serious accidents reported. It is frequently used for both passenger travel and cargo transport over a distance of more than 410 kilometers.
