The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Wednesday that it had facilitated the return of 143 Bangladeshi migrants from Misrata to Dhaka over the past week.

In a brief statement, the IOM said that the return of these migrants was supported by the European Union’s program for the protection, return, and reintegration of migrants in North Africa.

The voluntary return program in Libya resumed in August 2021, with the first flight after the resumption departing from Misrata International Airport to the Gambian capital, Banjul, carrying 127 Gambian migrants.
