The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) announced on Sunday, that the number of registered voters for the first stage of municipal council elections has reached 157,403 voters.
The number was distributed between 116,203 men and 41,200 women, while the elections included 60 municipal councils within the first phase, according to the HNEC.
On Saturday, the HNEC extended the voter registration to July 13, attributing this to the increasing demand for participation, explaining that this decision provides a new opportunity for those who faced some difficulties in the process of including their name and data in the voter register.
