The Media advisor for the Ministry of Health, Amin Al-Hashemi, confirmed on Friday that in excess of 100 bodies of civilians had been discovered in and around Tarhuna Hospital, which included the remains of women and young children recently killed.

Al Hashemi said that the Ministry of Health was working rigorously with the Misrata branch of the Red Crescent and forensic teams to determine the identity of the remains in order to deliver them to their relatives.

The Libyan Army Forces also recovered approximately 60 other unidentified bodies, which were found in a food transportation unit, near Tarhuna Hospital, bringing the number to around 160 bodies which the authorities are presently seeking to identify.
