The Sudanese-Libyan joint forces rescued, on Friday, 8 Sudanese immigrants and found 20 others dead, in the desert on the border between Sudan and Libya.

The joint forces did not identify the immigrants who were found on the common border of North Darfur state with Libya, according to the Sudanese News Agency.

The agency reported that those who were found were coming from North Darfur State, heading to Libya, in an illegal immigration journey, and were travelling on two vehicles.

The agency quoted the commander of the joint forces, Ali Saeed, as saying that ‘after the information received by the Sudanese-Libyan joint forces in Dongola and search operations, 20 of them were found dead in the desert’.
