The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced the death of three migrants while trying to cross the Mediterranean from Libya to Europe in the second week of January 2025, bringing the number of those who died in the period from January 1 to 11, to 18 migrants, according to statistics.
The organization reported in its weekly statistics on Facebook that 493 migrants, including 17 children, 429 men, and 47 women, had been intercepted and returned to Libya in the same period. They had sailed from the coasts of Tripoli, Al-Zawiya and Sabratha.
