Around 4,000 mango trees and 25 fruit-bearing palm trees were destroyed by fires at Farm No. 1 of the mango project located within the Al-Jawf Al-Gharbi municipality in Al-Kufra.
The head of the media office in Al-Jawf Al-Gharbi in Al-Kufra municipality reported that the project has experienced a series of repeated fires in recent days, resulting in significant losses of fruit trees and windbreaks, in addition to negative impacts on the agricultural infrastructure of the region.
The head of the media office explained that firefighting operations lasted for several hours due to the difficulty of controlling the blaze, which consumed large quantities of water. He called for urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such fires and to protect the project from further damage.
