The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity announced on Thursday the arrest of 49 illegal migrants after they were stranded in the desert in the Hamada region in southwestern Libya.
The ministry explained, in a post on its Facebook page, that desert patrols affiliated with the Al-Qurayyat Security Sector of the Border Guard Service region arrested 49 illegal migrants of various African nationalities in the desert. They were referred to the Al-Assah border sector headquarters, pending their transfer to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.
