58 members of the High Council of State (HCS) have suggested holding legislative elections before the end of this year, leaving this matter to the High National Elections Commission to decide the possible date.

In a statement signed by these members, they indicated that the available and possible solution is to hold parliamentary elections in the first stage, provided that the main task of the new parliament is to achieve the constitutional merit and to hold presidential elections."

“The legislative elections can be held based on Law No. (4) of 2012 issued by the National Transitional Council without the need to adopt a new law or constitutional rule”, they added.
