The Libyan Ministry of Interior announced on Friday that the Ministry's Border Guard managed to rescue 62 migrants near the Libyan-Tunisian border after they were lost in the desert.

The ministry confirmed that the migrants were rescued by desert security patrols of the Border Guard, which is in charge of securing the 200 km long Libyan-Tunisian border from Ras Jedir to Wazen.

The ministry revealed that the rescued migrants were of different nationalities and were found in separate groups stranded in the desert, confirming that health care was provided to them, and they were kept at the headquarters of the security border crossing, until their referral to the competent authorities.
