The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Tobruk has reported the deportation of more than 7,750 illegal migrants from Libya during the first half of the current year 2024.
The agency said in statistics published on its Facebook page on Thursday that the deported migrants are of 18 nationalities, African and Arab, 230 of them are infected with infectious diseases, including 11 migrants infected with HIV/AIDS.
The statistics showed that the largest number were migrants from Sudan, where their number exceeded 5,000, followed by Egypt with about 1,000 migrants, and Nigeria came third with more than 400 migrants.
These efforts come within the plan of the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency to combat this phenomenon in order to preserve the national and health security of Libyan cities, according to the agency.
