A report by Sky News UK stated that the trial of Libyan national Abu Agila al-Mariami, accused of participating in the manufacture of the bomb that caused the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie in 1988, has been postponed.
The trial was scheduled to begin in Washington on May 12, but U.S. District Judge Dabney L. Friedrich granted a request from the prosecution and defense to postpone it, citing the complexity of the case and the large amount of evidence scattered across several countries, which requires more time for preparation. A new trial date has not yet been set.
