The African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security Smail Chergui has warned of expediting the electoral process in Libya.
"Everyone should agree that elections cannot be held before the necessary conditions are met, which includes the approval of the mechanism and the results of the elections by the Libyan people, otherwise, the situation will become more complicated," Chergui explained in an interview with the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Earlier, the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, said that there are difficulties in holding the elections at the time scheduled on December 10, according to the timetable approved at the Paris meeting in late May.
