The Africa Defence Forum, a publication from the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), reported that total U.S. aid to Libya has exceeded $900 million since 2011. This assistance includes approximately $275 million dedicated to humanitarian efforts.

The magazine emphasized the importance of international cooperation, which was highlighted during the aftermath of the Derna disaster in early September last year.

A joint report from the World Bank, the United Nations, and the European Union estimated that $1.8 billion would be required for reconstruction and recovery following the catastrophe.
