The Libyan Embassy in Bulgaria announced the success of a test flight of an Airbus aircraft belonging to Afriqiyah Airways at Sofia Airport, saying the test flight lasted about three hours, and flew at an altitude of more than 39.000 feet in Bulgarian airspace.
The aircraft is expected to return to Libya within days after being grounded for years, according to the Libyan Embassy in Bulgaria.
Afriqiyah Airways said on its Facebook page that it was conducting the final tests on the Airbus A319, registered with the letters 5A-ONI, inside the maintenance hangars at Sofia Airport in Bulgaria, confirming that the aircraft will return to service soon within its flight schedules, to "constitute a distinctive addition to its fleet." The aircraft has a capacity of 16 seats for business class and 96 seats for economy class.
