Afriqiyah Airways has firmly denied reports of a plane crash at Tripoli International Airport following speculation on social media.
Moez Ben Ismail, the airline’s Director of International Relations, clarified that the aircraft in question was heavily damaged during the 2014 conflict and has been out of service since then.
He attributed the plane’s movement at the airport to strong winds, noting that the aircraft is awaiting dismantling for spare parts.
The airline urged media outlets to verify facts before publishing and stated that all official updates would be issued solely through its verified Facebook page.
