Afriqiyah Airways announced Tuesday that it will conduct a flight from Misurata Airport to Istanbul today to repatriate the stranded passengers to Mitiga Airport.

Afriqiyah spokesman, Omran Zabadi, explained that the trip comes after the approval of the handling companies in the airport of Istanbul, noting that the return flight will be limited to passengers holding confirmed booking.

Zabadi added that the airline is awaiting the promises made by the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) concerning the transfer of receivables to the service companies at Istanbul Airport in order to resume flights to Turkey officially.
