Mohamed Al-Burki has claimed victory in the Al-Khums Chess Championship, securing a spot in this year’s Libya Chess Championship.
Al-Burki topped the leaderboard with an impressive eight points from nine rounds, according to a statement from the Libyan Chess Federation.
Hatem Abu Mangel finished in second place with seven points, while Khaled Khalifa came third with six and a half. Abdulwarth Al-Tunsi and Firas Al-Baradai followed closely in fourth and fifth place respectively, each with six points.
The tournament, held at the Youth Hostel in Al-Khums, attracted over 70 participants from cities across Libya and ran throughout the past week.
