The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant-General Muhammad Al-Haddad, has stressed the vital role of border communities in protecting the nation's borders.

Al-Haddad's remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of tribal leaders of the southern region, namely from Ghadames, Ghat, Awal, Thala Al-Barket, Essin, Al-Uwainat, Ubari, and Thala Maknoussa.

The delegation also included representatives of the Mahary Sports Federation and heads of clubs of this sport. They highlighted the sports' critical role in bringing people together and discussed means to harness sports programs to maintain peace and achieve reconciliation.

The army's chief pledged to provide support, assistance, and coordination and put forward proposals to secure the south.
