Minister of Social Affairs Wafaa Al-Kilani discussed on Monday the repatriation of autistic children from Jordan to receive treatment within Libya.

Al-Kilani held a meeting grouping the General Manager of the Autism Diagnosis and Treatment Centre in Tripoli, the Head of the Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Agreement between the Ministry and the Jordanian Academy for Autism, and the Ministry's social expert.

Minister Al-Kilani underscored the urgent need to expedite all administrative, financial, and legal processes in order to facilitate the return of the children. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of executing the Ministry's 2024 plan for autistic children and finalizing the specialized programs essential for their preparation and localized treatment upon return.

On January 29, Al-Kilani discussed the repatriation of autistic children from Jordan with the President of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak. This included the agreement with the Jordanian Academy for Autism, which will lead to the return of all autistic patients receiving treatment and training at the academy, along with medical and training teams to train medical staff at the Tripoli Centre for the treatment of autism.
