Libyan Design Standards Project

Minister of Social Affairs, Wafa Al-Kilani, has announced the launch of the Libyan Design Standards Project, aimed at promoting inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities. The announcement was made during a ceremony on Monday at Dar Al-Wafa Home for the Elderly in Tripoli.

The event, held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, was attended by senior officials, including the head of the General Authority for the Social Solidarity Fund and advocates for disability rights.

In her remarks, Minister Al-Kilani highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and described the project as a critical step toward ensuring accessibility in all areas of life.

The ceremony also included presentations on initiatives by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the General Authority for the Social Solidarity Fund to enhance the rights and opportunities for people with disabilities. Additionally, Braille devices were distributed to visually impaired attendees as part of the "Letters of Light" initiative, which aims to provide educational tools for individuals with visual impairments.
